In order to enrol with TupuOra Institute of Learning (TupuOra), Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be NZ Citizens (including Cook Islands, Niue, and Tokelau citizens)
• Permanent Residents (currently residing in NZ)
• Australian citizens/permanent residents (holding a returning residents visa) and currently living in NZ, or meet specific criteria such as being exchange students or dependents of diplomats.
• Over 16 years of age and have a Ministry of Education exemption form

To enrol, simply click on the ‘Apply Now’ button. The Enrolment Form takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. Please ensure you have your passport and/or birth certificate handy to finalise your enrolment. Note that all correspondence will be sent via email once your Enrolment Form has been received.

IQualify is a user-friendly Learning Management System that provides access to a wide range of resources, programme materials, and interactive learning experiences tailored to enrich your educational journey.

Once the enrolment process is complete, you will receive an email confirmation containing login details along with instructions to sign up and join IQualify.

You have the option to withdraw from your programme at any time following confirmation of your enrolment. There are two types of withdrawals: 

• Early Withdrawal: This occurs when an Ākonga withdraws within the first 10% of the programme’s duration (the Cut-Off Period), up to a maximum of 30 days.
• Withdrawal: This happens when an Ākonga withdraws after the Cut-Off Period.

If you no longer wish to continue with the programme you can opt for an ‘early withdrawal’. This can be done by either sending an email here or directly contacting the Pūkenga. 

If you withdraw early you will not incur any fees, will not have your results recorded, and will not have any funding claimed. If you withdraw early during the Cut-Off Period, you are entitled to a refund for fees you have paid. However, if you withdraw after the cut-off date, you will be responsible for any outstanding fees, your completed results will be recorded, and funding will be claimed against your enrolment. 

No refunds will be considered after the finish date of the programme, except in exceptional circumstances or if the programme is cancelled.

TupuOra Institute of Learning (TupuOra) may offer some programmes that have fees attached to help cover expenses. If TupuOra confirms your enrolment in writing on a fee-paying programme, you must pay ALL fees (tuition fees, student services levies, and course resource costs) in full before 10% of your programme has elapsed.

Any Applicant under 18 years old enroling in fee-paying programmes must also submit a completed Parental Consent Form

Credit Card Payment:

If you’re using a credit card, you can make a secure payment via Stripe at the completion of the Enrolment Form

Invoice:

You can easily request an invoice directly through the Enrolment Form. Once requested, an invoice will be created for you. Remember, it’s important to pay your invoice before your programme’s 10% cut-off date to avoid cancellation of your enrolment.

Studylink:

If you’re using a Student Loan to pay your fees, make sure to apply early for StudyLink approval. Your fees must be paid before your programme’s 10% cut-off date or your enrolment may be canceled. If your loan is declined, you must still pay your fees unless you withdraw early. Contact StudyLink on 0800 88 99 00 or visit their website at www.studylink.govt.nz for help or questions about loan eligibility changes.

Work and Income New Zealand:

If you’re using the Training Incentive Allowance (TIA) from Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) to pay fees, get TIA forms from WINZ and verify your study details with us. After you receive a Confirmation of Enrolment Letter, send an invoice to WINZ with your TIA application. If WINZ doesn’t cover all fees, you can try applying to StudyLink. Organise this early to avoid delays. If TIA is refused, you must pay fees unless you withdraw early.

Fees Free:

If you’re a first-time tertiary learner, you may be able to get your fees covered for one year’s study or two years’ work-based training. Visit their website www.feesfree.govt.nz to check your eligibility.
